We’re building the tools to measure soil carbon at scale. As our People & Operations Manager, you’ll help build a company where people can do good work, grow, and enjoy being part of the team.
**
About Seqana**
Seqana builds digital tools for monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of soil carbon. We combine satellite imagery, an extensive proprietary library of soil data, and machine learning to make soil carbon measurement accurate, cost-effective, and scalable.
Regenerative agriculture can store carbon in soils while improving soil health, water quality, food security, and biodiversity. Measuring that impact is often costly and complex. Our tools help project developers, agrifood companies, NGOs, and governments credibly quantify and report the results of regenerative agricultural practices.
We’re based in Berlin, backed by venture capital investors, and supported by public funding from ESA and DLR.
Aufgaben
As our People & Operations Manager, you’ll shape how we hire, support, and develop our team, and own the everyday operations that make Seqana a good place to work. You’ll report directly to Stefan, our CEO, and work closely with the leadership team and everyone across the company.
With a new funding round behind us, we’re developing the structures that will support our next stage of growth. You’ll build on what already works and bring more structure where it helps: an HR system that fits our team, a clear framework for development and progression, and a hiring process that brings the right people on board. You’ll have the space to shape the approach and the responsibility to make it work in practice.
Our team brings together soil scientists, engineers, and people in product and commercial roles, often looking at the same problem from four directions. You’ll help keep that team connected, whether we’re at an offsite or working through an ordinary Tuesday. Together with the leadership team, you’ll shape how we give feedback, support each other, and put our values into practice.
**
People**
Own hiring end to end: from shaping job descriptions and sourcing candidates to candidate communication, offers, and contracts.
Own the employee lifecycle, with onboarding that is ready for day one and offboarding that is clear, considerate, and well organised.
Evolve our growth framework and salary bands, and support the annual review and compensation cycle.
Keep a read on how people are doing through check-ins and surveys, and bring forward what leadership needs to hear.
Coordinate our team gatherings, from standups and All-Hands to Thursday hangouts, parties, and the annual offsite.
Build our employer brand so the right people find us.
**
Operations**
Select and introduce an HR system that fits our team, and own migration, rollout, training, and ongoing use.
Own the employee tool stack: licences, accounts, access, and costs per person.
Coordinate payroll with our tax firm and employer of record (EOR) provider, and own the travel expense process.
Coordinate German employment contracts and amendments, visa and immigration cases, and work with our lawyer to move them forward.
Administer our VSOP programme.
Keep our Kreuzberg office welcoming and running smoothly, as a place where our hybrid team wants to meet, work together, and spend time.
