Join us.  Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Analyst Applications (SAP Basis Administrator) to join our Design Eng Processes team - CAT IT Division. The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN  This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule. Shift Timing: 01:00-10:00PM IST The Senior SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and strategic support of enterprise SAP environments. This role ensures SAP systems are secure, highly available, scalable, and compliant while supporting upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and cloud transformation initiatives. The position collaborates closely with Infrastructure, Security, Development, Middleware, Database, and Functional teams to deliver reliable SAP services. This is a critical role that helps ensure our end users experience a well-equipped, efficient, and simple support touchpoint. Further, this role owns the Continuous Improvement journey for the department, with programs that improve automation, monitoring, and analytic capabilities. Job Duties: Own and drive all incidents, service tasks, problem tickets and system optimization for operations portfolio, ensuring delivery against commitments, SLAs, and outcomes. Establish, monitor, and continuously improve standard work; ensure progress, risks, and dependencies are communicated effectively to stakeholders and leadership. Partner with business units and decision makers to support day-to-day operations, incident/problem resolution, and continuous service improvement. Technical responsibilities include: SAP Landscape Administration (install, configure, maintain, and support SAP ecosystem) Upgrade & Patch Management System Performance & Availability High Availability and Disaster Recovery Services Security & Compliance Print Management Transport Management Cloud & Automation Level 4 Troubleshooting/Support. SAP HANA & Database administration Data Lifecycle Management configuration   What You Will Have: Strong functional and/or technical application design, architecture, implementation, and support knowledge . Deep technical expertise across the SAP technology stack, including SAP landscape administration, HANA/database administration, upgrades and patching, performance and availability, high availability/disaster recovery, security and compliance, transport and print management, cloud and automation, data lifecycle management, and Level 4 technical support . Gen AI Assisted Development or Support: Practical experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot or automated agent workflows) to accelerate application development or support, cost or effort reduction, or support optimization. Demonstrated experience with AI tools A Lean or Continuous Improvement background. An ability to translate between technical and business language, creating a bridge between the support organization and the Caterpillar business they serve.  Top candidates will also have: Has the ability to lead, analyze and have a broader perspective on specific technology and related solutions. This requires a comprehensive understanding of application solutions, interfaces, security, data governance policies and procedures. Skilled in large scale application support and development Hana DBA Certification Basis Administration Certification Experience with SAP on Hyperscale’s, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Test Data Migration Methodologies) Knowledge of automation (Python, Ansible) Prior experience in driving innovation and automation Extensive experience in working with cross-functional teams, along with proven history of strong job-related result's Strong stakeholder management skills   Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational objectives. Education / Experience : Requires a relevant computer science master’s or graduate degree and 9-plus years of progressively complex Information Services experience, including enterprise application architecture, development, support, and modernization. Requires a general understanding of business operations, including one or more of the following: general business processes, technical infrastructure, application development and support of major projects, and engineering functional applications. The incumbent must have the ability to provide strategic direction for application and technology roadmaps, including 2–5-year plans for Information Services. Requires the ability to work with diversified departments, along with effective oral and written communication skills. The incumbent must have a strong customer focus and business knowledge.
